Meet Dr. Alexia Lindell, D.Ac

(AKA Your New Favorite Acupuncturist & Wellness Resource Manager)

Founder of Worcester's Qi Society | Doctor of Acupuncture | Eastern Wellness Guide | Former Coast Guard Officer | Person Who Gets It

My alphabet soup: Dr. Alexia Lindell, D.Ac, M.Ac, B.S., L.Ac, Dipl.Ac, CYT

What it means for you:

As your dedicated Wellness Resource Manager at Qi Society, I bring exceptional expertise to your health and wellness portfolio. Licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine (the same authority that credentials physicians), my investment in your care included over 300 academic credits—more than four times the coursework of a typical MBA.

This comprehensive education encompassed both Traditional Eastern medical wisdom and modern Western biomedical science, creating the perfect balance of timeless techniques and contemporary understanding.

Nationally board certified and holding both Doctoral and Master's degrees in Acupuncture, I've completed thousands of hours of supervised clinical practice and passed 3 medical board exams to ensure your wellness investments yield the highest possible returns.

While my training is extensive, my approach remains refreshingly approachable. My role is to help you intentionally allocate your body's natural resources for lasting wellness that appreciates with time—creating results that extend far beyond symptom relief to transformation you can feel.

My Story

At 25 I was honestly a hot mess.

Picture this: I'm working long night shifts as a search and rescue coordinator (yes, in the Coast Guard, working to save lives), but behind the scenes? My body was staging its own little mutiny. Insomnia. Extreme fatigue. Tinnitus. Acid reflux that would NOT quit. Bloating. Heartburn. TMJ that had my jaw click-clacking louder than Miranda Priestly's Jimmy Choos in The Devil Wears Prada. And the cherry on top? Persistent acne flare-ups that had me so upset and confused. Why was I experiencing problems as an adult that everyone else seemed to figure out already?

Any of these symptoms sound familiar?

I knew something had to change, but I wasn't exactly thrilled about the idea of starting a pharmaceutical cocktail while I was still in my twenties. The questions kept swirling: would I be taking these medications for the next 60+ YEARS? What about all those side effects they speed-talk through in commercials? Was this really my only option?

I started to connect the dots—stress was making EVERYTHING worse. So I doubled down on my yoga practice, hoping that would be enough. It helped a lot... but wasn't enough.

Then came the plot twist that changed everything.

There happened to be an acupuncture clinic right next to my yoga studio (hello, universe, I see what you did there). One day, after a particularly rough night of insomnia and heartburn that felt like a dragon was living in my chest, I thought, "What do I have to lose?"

After my first treatment, I was intrigued.
After a few treatments, I was cautiously optimistic.
After a few months? I was a full-blown acupuncture evangelist telling everyone I knew about acupuncture.

My body felt like mine again. And the benefits didn't stop there. As time went on, acupuncture became my go-to solution for everything life threw my way—sprained ankle during a training exercise? Acupuncture. Dry eyes from staring too long at screens? Acupuncture. Seasonal allergies making me miserable? You guessed it... acupuncture.

When I started thinking about leaving the Coast Guard, I had some serious hesitations. I mean, how do you walk away from literally saving lives? But then it hit me—acupuncture had saved the QUALITY of my life. And I knew deep down that I could create an even bigger ripple effect and act as an agent of positive change within my community by helping others discover what I had found.

So I did something that seemed absolutely crazy to everyone around me—I left my secure military career in the middle of unprecedented global chaos to go back to school and study acupuncture. (Spoiler alert: Best. Decision. Ever.)

The inside scoop:

Other than practicing acupuncture, I like to try new wellness trends (market research, of course!), workout, play with my adorable cats, listen to podcasts or audiobooks on long walks, and attempt to garden. As a nerd at heart, I don't watch much TV, but I'm ready for my Bravo debut!

My Real Housewives tagline?

"I'll stab you in the back... and you'll like it."

My Approach to Wellness

(Or: Why I'm Not Your Typical Dr.)

Let's get one thing straight: at Qi Society, wellness isn't just about making your symptoms disappear (though we're pretty darn good at that too). It's about helping you THRIVE in every area of your life. Here's how I roll:

Personalization: You're not a textbook case, and I'm not going to treat you like one. Your body, your story, your goals, your treatment plan. Period.

Integration: I'm taking the best hits from Eastern medicine's 3000-year playlist and remixing them with practical modern approaches that actually fit into your real life. No "just avoid stress" suggestions here.

Education: Knowledge is power, people! I'm all about teaching you why things are happening in your body and giving you simple DIY techniques you can use between sessions. (Because I genuinely want you to feel better even when you're not in my treatment room.)

Partnership: This isn't a "I talk, you listen" kind of deal. We're in this together. You bring your expertise about your body, I bring mine about acupuncture, and together we create magic.

Consistency: Quick fixes are for Instagram. I'm interested in creating sustainable wellness routines that actually stick—because they're designed specifically for YOUR life and schedule. Think of it as compound interest for your health—small, regular investments that grow exponentially over time.

Here's what it all comes down to: your body already knows how to heal itself (it's kind of amazing that way). Sometimes it just needs a little nudge in the right direction. That's where I come in.
